Lynmas Cottage is a beautiful three-bedroom cottage that has been lovingly restored by a local Interior Designer to create a modern, cosy property. Great care has been given to attention to detail to make sure that all guests can feel relaxed and able to enjoy the property and its local surroundings.

 

It is ideal for holiday makers looking to visit the countryside as Ashdon village has a large network of lovely walks. There is a local pub within easy walking distance, as well as several other very good pubs and restaurants just a few miles away. The village also has its own Museum which is a 'must visit' attraction as they serve afternoon tea with cakes baked by the local WI (open Wednesdays and Sundays). The market town of Saffron Walden is only 4 miles away and Cambridge, Newmarket and London are all very accessible.

The property is available for short term midweek or long weekend lets subject to availablity

ROOMS

THE COTTAGE

The spacious ground floor has a fully fitted and well-equipped kitchen with a dishwasher and full-height fridge-freezer and Smart TV. There is a downstairs utility area with cloakroom, washing machine, space to have a dog bed, coat and welly storage. The sitting room is cosy with French doors out to the garden, a large TV  with comfortable seating and a selection of board games to enjoy.

 

There are two double bedrooms, one of which has an ensuite shower room. The double beds have renowned 'Emma' memory foam mattresses and the double rooms have ample hanging cupboard space. The twin bedroom is cosy and compact with comfortable single beds and lovely views over the fields.

The bathrooms are high-spec with 2 power-showers and bath (master bed has an ensuite shower room, family bathroom has a shower over the bath). Oil fired central heating, electricity and high-quality bed linen and luxury towels are included. A hairdryer is also supplied.

 

There is off road parking for 2 cars and a good size fully fenced garden with a pretty river running along the boundary.

Admire the interiors of what was once one of the largest and most opulent houses in Jacobean England, enjoy the glorious gardens or take a stroll over to the stable yard and meet the friendly horses. 

Newmarket Races

 

Home of the Guineas & July Festival, there's no day out quite like one at Newmarket Racecourse in Suffolk. Enjoy a day at the races or a night of music.

Cambridge

 

Cambridge has a wonderful choice of shops from the 7-day market, the Art and Craft market, and many boutiques and independent shops as well as high street brands. Enjoy a punt on the river or walk along the back for a more cultural trip out. 

Saffron Walden Market

 

A market is held in the extremely attractive Market Place every Tuesday and Saturday throughout the year. A number of themed markets take place throughout the year.

Ickworth House

 

The Ickworth estate in Suffolk is managed by the National Trust and encompasses 1800 acres of parkland. Walk around the grounds, explore Ickworth house, and take a picnic on a sunny day!
